STRUCTURAL DESIGN
Structural work is at the heart of everything we do. Whether above or below ground, Bourdon Hill is a specialist in creating spaces in new and innovative ways but is knowledgeable in the essential planning and engineering that must take place beforehand.
Framing layout, beam specification, and calculation reports. Just what you need if you’re intending to make an opening in or remove a load-bearing wall.
All of our designs and calculations are carried to meet the requirements of Building Regulations Part A – Structure.

METHOD STATEMENTS
Depending on the scope of works and complexity of the project, method statements can be provided to outline the approach to construction management. Typically, method statements outline the proposed works and how they will be carried out to ensure that construction is carried out safely and efficiently with minimal adverse impacts. Throughout construction, the method statement will be constantly reviewed and any changes or improvements will be re-submitted and approved by the relevant parties.
Method statements are required to review the associated hazards and risks when undertaking construction works. This is necessary for temporary works in order to avoid compromising the structural integrity of the building as well as the adjacent properties. Construction method statements may be required under the guidelines of the party wall notice or for submission to local authorities prior to permission being granted for the proposed works.

TEMPORARY WORKS DESIGN
When undertaking construction works, which involve refurbishment, partial or whole demolition, or working near other buildings or structures, a temporary works scheme will be required.
Bourdon Hill can offer design services in almost all traditional Temporary Works Design proposals. This includes (but not limited to):-
Basement propping design
Underpinning
Propping design
Hoarding design
Façade retention design,
Temporary steel or concrete structure design
Crane bases
Temporary earthworks
Temporary works can play crucial part in a project’s success and it is important to understand the constraints of the site as well as the existing and neighbouring structures. The final proposed layout and deflection limits are also crucial to prevent partial or full collapse during construction.

SHELL & CORE CONSTRUCTION
With over 25 years of combined experience in shell and core construction, Bourdon Hill has an unrivalled track record delivering some of the most complex structural work in London and the Home Counties.
SUBSTRUCTRE
Bourdon Hill is renowned for its expertise in substructure works in London and the Home Counties. Our experience which spans over three decades has allowed us to hold an unrivalled amount of specialist knowledge in how to construct and utilise basement space – from underground car storage, to additional living space – we can take on the most challenging projects.
SUPERSTRUCTURE
We’re the ideal partner to deliver complex superstructure works alongside substructure services, allowing you to appoint one contractor for everything.
The majority of our work is in delivering full shell & core services – a package of works that has layers of benefits due to developers, architects and private clients having the ability to start works whilst still finalising the internal design and special finishes.
